Mini Charity Shop Haul

On Wednesday my Dad & I had our first adventure day of the year and we decided to go charity shopping. You all know that charity shopping is one of my favourite things to do - I even bought most of my Christmas presents from them last year! - and it's especially fun after New Year because a lot of people will have de-cluttered after Christmas and showered their local charity shops with goodies for me to buy!

Bookcase Tour 2016

{ B l o g m a s :: day sixteen }

I posted my first bookcase tour last Summer but it's changed multiple times since then! I used to have a three-shelved bookcase made from warm-toned wood which didn't suit me, my books or my décor style at all so I've since invested in two white bookcases from Ikea. A Billy bookcase replaced the one from my old post & I also got this tall bookcase that I've placed up against the side of my wardrobe. I did used to store my contemporary books on the Billy bookcase but I swapped them over to the bigger one recently because I needed the space! I've gotten rid of a ton of books recently and I've only kept my real favourites which all fit on it perfectly.

Gifting | Bloom Candles

{ B l o g m a s :: day twelve }

I've finished my Christmas shopping!! And as I mentioned in my 'Why I'm Buying Second-Hand Gifts' post, what I didn't buy second-hand I wanted to source from small businesses. Instead of buying Luke's mum a Yankee Candle like we do most years I placed an order with Bloom Candles and today I'm here to rave about them!

My Completed Print Wall

I penned a post back in July sharing my plans to revive my old photo wall and finally, three months later, it's complete! In all honesty it was finished about a month ago but I just hadn't gotten around to photographing it until now. In order to mark this momentous occasion I thought I'd give you a in-depth tour of it because it's pretty and also just in case you were interested in any of the specific pieces.

Reviving The Print Wall

Remember my photo wall? I bloody loved it. Although I say photo wall when really it spread itself across one wall and up the side of one old boiler unit (now my wardrobe), I do like to think of it as one cohesive unit. Not only was it v aesthetically pleasing, it was also motivational, inspiring and often served itself well to this blog as a fabulous photo background. I had to dismantle it when I put up my new big bookcase which now stands in front of where the main bulk of photos were, and weirdly I never bothered putting it back up on a different wall in my bedroom. Today I decided to right this terrible wrong by reviving my photo wall and I thought I'd share some general thoughts and inspiration on the kinda vibe I'm going for this time around.

Bedroom Details #2

BLOGMAS DAY TWO.
I'm so so pleased with how my bedroom has come together this year. I've replaced almost all of my old mis-matching wooden furniture for a bunch of white bookcases of various size, I've organised my books in a more practical yet visually appealing way and I've played around with displaying artwork and photos. The most recent change in my room has been the inclusion of this Ikea Billy bookcase, and today I thought I'd give you a lil tour.

Desk Updates

Back in April of this year, I posted a Desk Tour. I'd just finished painting my bedroom (after putting it off for 6+ months..) and was excited about the novelty of having a desk so decided to snap some photos pretty quickly after it had all been thrown together. Fast forward to now and my desk area looks pretty different! All of the original basics are there: the same desk, same location, same chair, same photos etc but I've installed several splashes of colour in honour of summer recently, so I thought I'd update you all!
THIS is the colourful beauty that my desk area has become. It's actually quite comical just how much more colour I've injected. Go back and look at my original desk tour - it was pretty and simple, but lacking so much colour! My desk is now a more inspiring and cheerful place to reside.

Bookshelf Tour 2015

It's been a long time coming, but I'm finally doing a bookshelf tour! It wasn't until the end of last year that I even had a bookshelf, my books were just piled up in every corner of my room with no home & in no particular order which annoyed the hell out of me. I'm a bit shy to be showing you guys this, actually, mostly because all of the other bookshelf tours I've seen are beautifully displayed and consist of about 4 separate shelving units. I only have one unit, partly because my bedroom is too small for two, partly because I hide away all of the other books I own that I haven't read for a long time. I'm not 100% sure where this unit is from, but here is a very similar one from Ikea. I'm going to replace this shelf with a plain white one eventually, but I don't see the point in doing that until this one is un-useable! It's the eco warrior inside me. I might attempt to cover it in sticky-back white plastic, but we shall see.

Desk Tour

I've finally finished painting my bedroom!! I'd only been planning/talking about doing it for about six or seven months before I finally did it, but hey! That's also another thing ticked off of my 2015 Goals (which you can keep track of here if you're interested) In celebration, I got snap happy with my camera and photographed two 'areas' of my room for blog posts, one of which is for this very post. Woooo.

Bedroom Details

One of my favourite things in my bedroom is my Ikea Alex Bookcase. I'll probably do a post on the whole case itself when I'm 100% happy with the way it's being used, but until then I thought I'd share what I keep on top of it!

New Bedroom Storage

One of my favourite places to scour for hidden gems is Home Bargains. The make-up selection is a bit outdated & useless, but their home décor pieces are gorgeous. I find that the best place to look (other than, obviously, the home décor section) is the kitchen section. They have all sorts of cute little dishes and plates, as well as pretty glass storage jars - which is what I'm going to show you today.
