So, I'm on a book buying ban. In order to get a move on with my TBR & 2015 Reading Challenge, I set a strict 'you can buy another book after you read three' kinda rule in order to help me with it, BUUUT these are all books I bought before the beginning of this year. It's just taken me a while to photograph them. A few of these were also Christmas presents, and one was sent to me by an author.
Let It Snow by John Green, Lauren Myracle & Maureen Johnson. A collection of three wintery, Christmassy romances. I kind of need to read this soon, as I feel like if I don't it'll be too late and the 'theme' wont be relevant anymore. Hopefully I can read this before February. I got this for Christmas from my mum.
Shiver by Maggie Steifvater. I've heard mixed reviews about this, and to be honest I'm not even sure what it's about, but it was just 50p and all of the proceeds went to charity. I think it's about werewolves, which seems kind of interesting. I never really had a 'werewolf' phase after Twilight, so feel like I'm missing out on some kind of teenage experience by not reading it. We'll see how I get on with this one. I am actually kind of excited to read it.
One Day by David Nicholls. I bought this from a charity shop for 50p after wanting to watch the film aaaages ago and never getting around to it. It sounds a lot more 'grown up' than other romances I've read (I read a lot of YA), so I'm looking forward to seeing how I get on with it. It sounds like such a lovely, interesting story.
The Tales of Beedle the Bard by JK Rowling. This is one of the Harry Potter companion books that JK Rowling has written for charity. It's basically a collection of wizarding fairy tales, and also includes the Tale of the Three Brothers, which is featured in the Deathly Hallows (about the deathly hallows). I got this for Christmas from my mum.
Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green & David Leuithan. Not really sure what this is about, but it has John Green written on the cover and that's good enough for me. My dad got me this for Christmas.
Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them by JK Rowling. Another HP companion by Queen JK. This was released alongside Quidditch Through The Ages (a book I've read and reviewed here), and it completes my Harry Potter set. I've read a fair amount of this already, and it's so interesting. I love magical creatures. I got this for Christmas from my mum.
Bridget Jones' Diary by Helen Fielding. I've wanted to read this for so long. I love the movie and also love books written in diary format, so I'm looking forward to getting stuck into this. I bought this from a charity shop for 50p.
The Goddess Guide by Giselle Scanlon. I bought this book on a whim from a charity shop for £2, simply because I vaguely recognised the name and thought the cover was very pretty. After flicking through it, it kind of is what it says: a Goddess Guide, kind of like a woman's life bible. Inside is fashion and beauty advice, as well as a few cute and quirky articles. It's been fun to flick through and read a few pages at a time.
Hiraeth by Liz Riley Jones.* This book was sent to me for review. It's a kind of contemporary fantasy/action story, set in Wales and England. I was very intrigued by both the blurb and the setting: I don't think I've ever really read a book set in the UK, realistically at least. I'm about a quarter through this so far, but will post my full thoughts when I've finished it.
So those are the new books on my shelf! I really want to order The One by Kiera Cass, but I have one-and-a-half more books to read before I'm allowed. I hate following my own rules. xx
(Btw, my skull candle is from Primark, and the crystal is rose quartz)
Can't wait to see your reviews on the two J.K Rowlings & Bridget Jones diary. All seem like they would be FUN reads. I am also on the "can't buy anymore until I read these" rule. UGHHHHHHHHH!

I've always wanted to watch One Day the film, & I rarely read romance that isn't YA so I'm really looking forward to it! x
DeleteSome good picks! I remember reading Will Grayson, Will Grayson and getting half way through before realising what was going on aha. I need to re-read because I don't think I appreciated it enough!
