I asked on Twitter recently if outfit posts were something you wanted to see more of on What Lauren Did Today. I was met with a nearly-resounding yes (one cheeky person clicked no) and within a few days I had my first batch of photos to share with you. I've always wanted to do outfit posts, but I felt like my outfits were too boring/plain/'cheap' and very much unlike most other outfit posts I read. You'll very rarely spot me wearing something from somewhere like Topshop, Urban Outfitters or Zara - unless it's an item I've picked up in a charity shop! My wardrobe is full of clothes I've either bought from charity shops and car boot sales or from budget-friendly places like Primark, H&M, New Look and supermarkets. Instead of being embarrassed, I've decided to celebrate these facts by sharing my outfits with you!
I didn't get up to much on this particular day. I went out with my dad but ended up feeling really panicky so we had to come home after about 45 minutes. In my eyes being out for 45 minutes is better than not going out at all so I'm not being too hard on myself about it. Onto the outfit though. It was bloody freezing so had to scrap the dress-and-tights combo I had originally planned on wearing and decided to get cosy in a V-neck jumper and pair of black jeggings. Because the jumper is V-necked I chucked on this leopard print knit scarf for added warmth. I personally think leopard print goes really well with this black-and-grey outfit - I saw a similar combo on Pinterest ages ago and decided to re-create it! With my pleather jacket on top and my feet tucked cosily into my 5SOS socks inside my boots I was toasty warm.
This is such a simple yet pretty outfit! I especially love the boots! I know what you mean about outfit posts, it's like you feel inadequate and unable to post them because you don't have the most expensive clothes but I'm so glad you decided to go against that. It makes it so much more realistic. You look so pretty in these photos, can't wait to see more outfit posts!!
