Just a quick little impromptu post to share with you my attempt at carving a pumpkin this year. It didn't really go exactly to plan, and neither did any of my family's, but if you don't fxck up your pumpkin carving is it even Halloween?
It's been a while since I posted one of these, eh?! The weeks are truly running away with me and before I know it I've missed seven (!!) Sunday Posts. I feel like once I miss just one it's impossible to catch up and it gets more difficult as each week goes by. I'm determined to get back at it, though, and hopefully this one will be the first of many to come over the final few weeks of 2016!
I love a good nude (in the make-up sense, you naughty minxes) but I'm very conscious of the fact that a shade that would popularly be considered 'nude' isn't necessarily a nude for every skin colour. As I'm a -10 on the paleness scale I've always found it difficult to find neutral shades that aren't too dark and brown-toned for my skin, but today I'm here with a little collection of Barry M varnishes that do the job!
Hello new readers & old! It's been a pretty little while since I penned an 'about me' post so today I thought I'd hit ya with a big ol' dose of facts to help you get to know me better. It's funny because my last one was back in 2014 and most of the facts don't apply to me anymore. Isn't it interesting how we change over time? ~
The Happy List is currently my longest standing series on my blog, the first instalment was posted back in November 2014. They've been few and far between this year though, a side effect of my depression and my The Sunday Post series. A while ago I was feeling a little down so wrote an impromptu happy list, focussing on the more trivial and general things that make me happy as opposed to events that have happened to me. I didn't think much else about it and it sat in my notebook alone until one night recently I was sat in bed with Luke and I asked him to write a list of his own. From there I had the idea to ask other members of my family & then a few of my blog friends and today I'm here to share a few of their lists with you! I'm planning for this to be a little series & I hope it'll bring a little bit of happiness into your day. Each time I'll be sharing a list of my own along with three of four lists I've collected from other people.
I know I've already done a giveaway this year but a few weeks ago I reached several milestones all at once: I now have over 1,000 Twitter followers, over 500 Instagram followers and almost 600 followers for my little blog! It blows my mind just a tad considering I celebrated reaching 400 followers back in February and now I'm almost at 600... eek! To say thank you in the best way I can I've decided to throw together a little giveaway. The theme for this giveaway is 'Autumn' and features a few of my Autumn essentials!
Lord of Misrule seems to be a real cult classic during Autumn/Winter and it's one that I've always kinda disliked. I used it once, back in 2013 I think, and always found the scent to be too spicy and smoky for me. I'm not sure if they've changed the formula or if my taste in scent has matured but I really like it now! It's still spicy and woodsy but I find it really warming, almost like mulled wine, but with the added sweetness of vanilla.
After spending my teenage years emotionally at war with my tiny boobs I've finally come to love and appreciate them and their size. I've spoken before about my previous unhappiness and budding confidence over being flat-chested and had since wanted to write another post sharing where I buy my little bras from and fiiiinally that time has come!
Obtaining and reviewing each of the Lush Halloween bath bombs was the final item on my September To-Do List and I'm happy to report that I semi-ticked it off! I purchased all of the bath bombs the day after they were released in stores but I've decided that instead of reviewing them all in one go, I'll post one review per week on the lead up to Halloween to make things a little more fun and festive. The first one I've tried was Monster's Ball, which sucked me in with it's super cute design and delicious scent.
I feel like this post is vaguely reminiscent of my September favourites last year as I also featured a Barry M nail varnish, a clothing item and the exact same book. In fact, I just reread that post and realised I was planning on penning the exact same sentences about Clockwork Princess this time around as well. I know I say I'm a creature of habit but it's so funny how I tend to fall back towards the same kinds of things during Autumn each year. BUT enough reminiscing - onto my September favourites for 2016!
