Superdrug Naturally Radiant Brightening Day Cream

Doesn't this moisturiser have the longest God damn name? Just typing out the title of this post half-filled the alloted space bar. Gawd.

I finally finished my non-CF moisturiser a few weeks ago, and looked to Superdrug for a replacement. Since turning cruelty-free I've been using the Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser and my skin has fared pretty well with it, so I decided to stick to that range and picked up the Brightening Day Cream for Normal/Dry skin. I'm quite lucky with my skin really, as it doesn't have particularly expensive taste, and can manage exceptionally well with just a simple line of products and by me drinking a ton of water. My biggest problem is dryness and redness, which this moisturiser tackles easily.

First things first: the packaging. For a product this cheap, I'm not really fussed by the packaging but I can understand that die hard skincare fanatics might dislike it. It comes its own compact cardboard box which gives an expensive touch, but the container itself is actually plastic with a screw lid. Stamped clearly on the bottom of the pot is the Leaping Bunny logo and text confirming this product is cruelty-free and suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Now, onto the product itself. It's quite a liquid-y cream, if that makes sense. It's thicker than a lotion, but not as thick as other, more luxurious creams I've tried. I'm not a fan of its scent - it's quite soapy and grannyish, but it is very clean and fresh. I found the same with the Hot Cloth Cleanser. The texture of the cream is almost a little oily, but it doesn't sit on the skin once applied. I do find that there is a slight residue that lingers for a little while, which may hinder foundation application, but it disappears eventually.

What I love most about this cream is the effect it has on my skin. After the initial greasy residue goes away, my skin is SO SOFT. Like, it's almost silken. All dryness disappears entirely and it helps reduce redness. I've also noticed a difference in the overall tone of my skin, as if it's blurred away the unevenness. It also contains SPF 15, which is great as a base but I would recommend to add a layer of a higher SPF cream on top!

You can buy this moisturiser for £5.99 instore or online.
