April Favourites

Does the fact that it's May already freak anyone else out? It's practically summer, when I swear it was pissing down rain two weeks ago (although, this is England...) Today I am sharing my April Favourites! I completely skipped this post last month, mostly because I have a miserable March and didn't really do much. I read a few books, but I wouldn't consider them favourites, and I used a few Lush products but I'd already talked about them... I just didn't really see the point. BUT April was different, as I have quite a few things to talk about!

Books. This month I had the sudden urge to re-read The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. Once again, I read it in a day, and then watched the film on the evening. For some reason, the book really doesn't make me cry at all, but the film has me BAWLING. I didn't cry at all when I saw it in the cinema, and it's like I'm making up for that, because both of the times I've watched it at home since I've been a mess. I really, really love this book. It's so easy to read, which was perfect after my super-long reading slump. Another re-read, but I've been LOVING Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare. The Infernal Devices is easily one of my favourite book series of all time, and I've been reading snippets of this every chance I get. I much prefer this series to The Mortal Instruments (which I featured in my Top 5 Book Series I Wont Finish)

Beauty. Bizarrely, no Lush favourite this month. I had a pretty underwhelming experience with the Sakura bath bomb, and it's kind of put me out of the Lush mood. However, I have been loving this Barry M nail varnish in Berry Ice Cream. I picked this up when I bought a polish for my giveaway, and it's been on my nails ever since. It applies so evenly and the colour is so lovely. Plus it's vegan and cruelty-free!

Lifestyle. April was a huuuge Pokémon month for me. I started re-watching the Pokémon: Indigo League series on Netflix and have been non-stop playing Pokémon Y for the past few weeks. I'm currently working on a team full of Eevee evolutions (just need Leafeon and I'm complete!) and it's been so much fun to play along with my boyfriend who is currently blasting through Omega Ruby. Finally, I've been writing in all of my notebooks using these pastel ink Bic pens. It's the little things that make life worth living, eh?

I hope you all have a fabulous May!

  4. I actually preferred the Mortal Instruments but I think that's because I'm not really a fan of classics!

  5. I watched TFIOS a couple of days ago for the first time, now I really want to read the book, especially if it doesn't make me cry! Like you, I cried my eyeballs out at the film.

    Thanks for the Twitter link.
