For some reason, I always go to start my blog posts by saying 'Yoooo' but then 'listen up, here's a story...' comes in my head afterwards and I think it's too weird. (If you have no idea what I'm talking about, here's a link to the song)
I was scrolling through my iPhone photos a few days ago (I was stuck somewhere with no wifi..) and realised that I had so many photos that I could share with you! It's been a while since I've done a life update post, so I have plenty to talk about.
A few days ago, my mum, step dad & I took a trip to visit a family friend at their home/farm. They have horses, cats, dogs, pigs, goats, geese, ducks, chickens and some little baby lambs who are currently living in their kitchen! A few people asked me if the lambs were going to be eaten, which actually really surprised me. I'm a bloody vegetarian! Do people really think I would share an image of some lambs that were going to be eaten, or have even been around the family if they were going to eat those precious little lambs? No. Anyway, moving on... I also met their pig (who is named Petal) and managed to snap a photo of her cute nose. The view from their farm is incredible - I could literally see at least half of Bristol. I could see the Bristol City Football Ground, the Suspension Bridge, the Severn Bridge... I was even able to zoom in on my camera and look at my Dad's flat building! I had a lovely afternoon playing Minecraft on the Xbox with the two sons, chasing down one of the three cats and making it love me and I EVEN HELD A LAMB. LIKE SERIOUSLY. It was actually really heavy, and it's fur was rough but it was SO BLOODY CUTE. The one that I held is called Luna, which made me love it even more!
I'm not sure if you've noticed, but What Lauren Did Today has finally been re-designed. I worked with the lovely Serena over at Pretty Wild Things and she designed my header for me, whilst I did everything else! I'm no tech genius, but I think it turned out really well. Let me know what you think! Coinciding with my redesign, I also received these beautiful blogging notebooks from a wonderful company called Getting Personal. I think they look so pretty with my new header on them. The picture on the bottom left shows a little snippet of a conversation between me and my mum on Facebook... I was basically trying to persuade her to let me have another kitten. I have already named him, but I definitely wont be getting a new kitten until maybe this time next year. I want to enjoy Luna as my only cat for a little while longer! He is definitely going to be black, though. Like in the photo: I want my own black cat family!
And finally, some updates on my little baby Luna! She isn't even little anymore. It's terrifying. It's actually her birthday quite soon (July 20th) and I'm currently thinking about her birthday presents. Seriously, I'm THAT type of crazy cat lady. I've already bought her a new collar, but I might also get her some new food and water bowls that match my new bedroom décor. We also bought her a hooded litter tray the other day, and she liked it... just not for using as a bathroom. She rolled around on her back and then fell asleep in there! In the bottom right photo, she also decided that the chicken cage (where our ill chicken was sleeping until she sadly passed away :( ) was a perfect place to sleep. She woke up COVERED in sawdust. She also destroyed her first collar a little while ago, which led me on a manic collar-buying expedition on a Sunday. I went to at least five shops before I found one that I liked! I honestly don't know how she broke it, because I check it every day to make sure it's intact and it definitely was... at least until we woke up the next morning and it was in pieces on my bedroom floor.
I hope you liked this post! I just realised how much I've written, but hopefully I didn't bore you all to death. I just had so much to talk about! Also: add me as a friend on Goodreads! I've just worked out how to use it (kind of) and want to interact with as many people as I can! The link is below xo
