The Sunday Post 08

I've been feeling particularly tired and anxious this week and I couldn't really pinpoint why - at least until I sat down to write this post and realised I've been out almost every day this week. Can you believe it?! I often feel like I've not made any progress with my anxiety this year and yet when I compare a week like this one to a week set in January/February it's pretty apparent that some progress is being made. Funny how these things work, isn't it?
one. Monday saw me pay a little visit to my dad. He's been feeling really unwell recently which meant I wasn't able to see him at all last week aside from an hour or so on Wednesday afternoon. I knew that it was making him really unhappy so I decided to drop in with a little care package for him. I went to Sainsburys and bought lots of easy to eat foods such as yoghurts, bananas and a noodle soup, plus some pretty white flowers. It definitely cheered him up and I felt a lot more settled having seen him.
two. Charity shopping was definitely my favourite activity this week - I went on three separate shopping expeditions, one with my mum and sister, one with Luke and one with my dad. My mum, Leigh and I went to Keynsham and I was able to find a few things, including a pair of pretty slouchy trousers and a cute daisy print skater dress which set me back just £1! Friday Luke and I went on a little library-lunch-and-charity-shop trip together on our bikes and it was just lovely. I bought myself two scarves - one for £1, one for 50p - because I'm just excited for Autumn, okay. Finally yesterday I had a little wander along one of my favourite streets in Bedminster and visited each of the charity shops there. I picked up a pair of New Look jeans for £3, a cool long sleeved H&M top for £2.50 and a brand new pair of Superdry trainers for Luke for £3. Gotta love a good charity shop haul.

three. On Thursday I spent the morning with one of my favourite people at Costa. My anxiety was particularly high that day and it meant that I was an awkward, mumbling mess and I wasn't able to have anything to drink but I still had the nicest time. In the afternoon I went to visit some family and spent an hour watching my one year old cousin flash me cheesy smiles and play with a pair of wireless headphones. She's the cutest.
four. How is everyone else feeling about the Olympics this year?! I'm personally really enjoying it. My favourite event is the men's gymnastics so of course I was a big bundle of nerves during the team final on Monday, and the individual all round final on Wednesday. I'm also v surprised by how many medal winners for Team GB come from the West Country - you can't usually tell from their accents, but you can when they interview the parents!

five. I'm so happy with the response to my post on my little sister's Nephrotic Syndrome. It's something I've wanted to talk about for a really long time but as she's recently relapsed again I felt it was finally time to do it. If you've never heard of the condition I'd really appreciate it if you would give my post a read, as I feel it's quite an obscure condition and I'm aiming to raise awareness. Thank you to everyone who left a wonderful comment, my family and I are so grateful.

I don't really have any plans for today, but after the busyness of this week I feel like it's probably for the best. I feel so tired. I'm in need of cosy clothes, Animal Crossing: New Leaf and that Lush bath I've been promising myself all week.

How was your week? Let me know one happy thing that happened <3

  1. It's so great that you've been getting out and about so much this week. But I'm not surprised you feel so tired! That's to be expected. Have a self care day today and look after yourself. I love charity shop hauls. You can get some really good stuff sometimes!! x www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x

  2. Firstly you should be so proud of yourself for combating your anxiety and being out of the house most of this week! Secondly how do you always manage to find the best charity shop purchase. My local charity shops have hardly anything in! I hope you have a lovely Lush bath and have enjoyed playing Animal Crossing all day :) xx

    1. Thank you Yasmina! Idk I feel like due to the number of charity shops I visit on a weekly basis I'm bound to find something I like sooner or later! I definitely walk away empty-handed 9 times out of 10 though! x
