Recognise this little baby from my 8 Little Happy Things post last month? She's grown so much!
Over the past few weeks I've experienced an intense revival of my love for goals. I've spoken before about the pressures I feel around a 'to do' list (especially ones scrawled in notebooks or on desk pads with 'I'm So Busy' and other intimidating phrases written on them in fancy font) but as I'm growing stronger mentally, I'm finding a lot of solace and motivation within a list of things I want to do each month, week and day.
September brings with it the promise of cosy knits, seasonal festivities and cinnamon-scented baked goods, along with the return of my inspiration. I've let a lot of things slip this year on my quest for mental clarity, and one of those things has been my blog. I'd really like to get back to it, if I can, and to make it work for who and what I am now, instead of trying to force myself into my 2015 mould. I also don't want to put too much pressure on myself. I really want to tailor things to work around my recovery, which is the most important thing to me right now.
There's just something about September that feels like a fresh start, don't you think?
Things to do this September:
1. Experiment with baking and share a few recipes.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6. Get outside more, even if it's only the back garden.
7. Establish a new routine of productivity with lots of rest added appropriately.
8. Stand up for myself and my health - I want to be a better personal ally.
9. Try yoga. For real this time.
10. Refer to my planner every morning before I touch social media.
I'm hoping that these mini goals will keep me on track, as I find by mid-month I lose my way and I'm unsure what to do with myself. Using my planner should help with this, as I've been relying on my memory to keep track of things which is never a good idea. I have a few fun little things planned, including weekly visits from my Dad and potentially a little shopping trip with my Mum, so even if I can't manage anything else I have those things to keep me going. I also have a new set of frames for my eyeballs arriving next week and I can't wait to wear them!
What do you hope to achieve this month?
Great goals - good luck with all of them. Such a cute bundle of floof *all the heart eyes* x www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x
ReplyDeleteThank you! Aaah I know - isn't she precious? I'm going to miss her when she gets adopted! x

ReplyDeletejen, velvet spring x
Hahah I totally feel you! It's similar enough that it doesn't feel wrong but I keep expecting them to say 'Paul and Mary' instead of 'Paul and Prue'!
DeleteThe planner one is such a good idea! I'm terrivle for it and my bullet journal is a complete mess as a result haha. I hope to bake more and also go to counselling more often.

Oh God I really need to pay more attention to my bullet journal! I hope counselling goes well for you <3
DeleteI didn't realise you were into baking! I'd love to read what recipes you try out, and if you have any of your own. I'm hoping to try a few new ones this month as well! ☺️

Thank you (: I'd love to share some recipes! I'm working on a couple but it depends if I can perfect them before the end of the month! There's always October, eh? x
DeleteGood luck on your goals! I'm excited to see what baked goods you end up making. :)
ReplyDeleteI've been slacking with my planner as well and have barely opened it so my goal for September is to use my planner more often. I even bought some new washi tape and stickers to use in it! ♥

Thank you lovely! Eeep washi tape makes everything better :) I hope September is good to you! x
DeleteLove these goals! I know we're a few days into September now, but I've been attempting to complete one of Yoga With Adriene's 30 day challenges. That might help with the yoga! I've decided it's okay if I have to miss a day but try not to miss more than one in a row... not as much pressure on myself then!
ReplyDeleteAaah thank you Katie! After your recommendation I've done Day One of her Yoga Revolution and I really enjoyed it <3
