SO. I'm typing this post up on my new iPad, which incidentally won't let me download Blogger as an app, meaning this could all be one grammatically disgusting and structurally unsound piece of text but hey. For some reason opening up my laptop to blog seems a bit daunting to me at the moment, I think maybe because of all that comes along with it - the photo editing, the researching, the tweet scheduling, the EFFORT. This seems infinitely more casual, especially because I'm going to be using an unedited photo that has 0 relevance to the post, which I just found in my iPhone photo library.
READING :: I've been dipping in and out of quite a few books recently. I always fall towards my favourites whenever my anxiety is bad, which is what led me to start re-reading The Hunger Games. I might do a post soon, actually, showcasing all of the books and heroines that inspire me whenever I feel weak. Katniss is definitely at the top of my list and I always find strength and comfort (bizarrely) in reading her story again. Another book I've been taking comfort in is Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. Cath reminds me so much of myself and Levi is essentially my boyfriend's personality doppelgänger so I do like to read this whenever I feel sad and Luke isn't around. Is that soppy? Probably a major case of PDA but oh well. I also started reading How Hard Can Love Be? by Holly Bourne which was one of my birthday presents from my mum. I don't really have an opinion on it yet because I'm only a few chapters in but I'm intrigued.
EATING :: oh my god, can we just hold a moment of supreme appreciation for peanut butter on toast? I am OBSESSED. I go to bed every evening looking forward to the morning just so I can have a slice of whole grain toast slathered in peanut butter. It's the little things. Also - nut roasts. SO GOOD. Anything to do with peanuts basically.
WATCHING :: on my new snazzy iPad (a birthday gift from my dad) I have an app called Pokemon TV which is essentially a bank full of episodes of Pokemon. They also currently have the first Pokemon film on there so I watched that the other day for the first time since I was little! Luke also treated me to the Avatar: The Last Airbender box set for my birthday which is one of my favourite cartoons so I've been binge watching that each night before I go to bed! On the Pretty Little Liars front - I am NOT feeling this season at all. I feel like we missed out on so much within those 5 years that I just don't care about their stories anymore. Plus this whole Charlotte storyline is CRAP. What do you think of it so far??
PLAYING :: I'm on such a gaming binge at the moment. Pokemon Platinum, The Urbz, the Sims & (embarrassingly) the Kim Kardashian Hollywood app are all games I've been devoting hours on end to recently. I do this sometimes - I'll have a reading phase, then a tv show phase, then a gaming phase. I'm never settled!
FEELING :: like crap. Anxiety is pinning me down at the moment guys. But I'm advancing on it slowly. Just now I took myself on an impromptu walk through the woods and although I was vaguely nervous I didnt feel one scrap of panic. This is a HUGE improvement on how I felt even a mere two hours ago, when I literally couldn't catch my breath. I'm pushing myself a little bit harder every day and I'm making steady progress. I'm devastated to be back in this place and sometimes it overwhelms me but I'm trying my best to carry on.
Aw I hope the anxiety isn't too bad, sounds like you are handling it well! The Pokemon app sounds amazing, I haven't watched them in sooo long!

I'm only just getting into PLL, but all I've heard is bad reviews of the new season! SOunds like you've been having a great week though

So my friend basically spoilt all the relationships that change over the 5 years in PLL and I'M NOT LIKING IT EITHER! Is this season even worth watching?

The Life of Little Me
I listened to The Hunger Games on audiobook and I'm thinking about reading it again, just to read it. It's a good book, nice and easy going too so you can get lost in it and have a little free head-space time :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE peanut butter, but peanut butter and jam on toast, now that has my heart! If you like jam, you should give it a go!
I LOVE pokemon, they have a lot of Pokemon episode on Netflix that I watched a while back and I took up playing the game too on my phone haha. It's a nice little way to spend 20 minutes :) (10 times in a row...oops). If you like a bit of Pokemon and you're tech savvy, maybe look into an emulator for your phone/ipad and play the old games!
As for PLL, I never got past the first series... I just couldn't get into it.
I hope things start picking up for you soon, but you sound like you're in the right head space, or the place where you need to be right now! Take care of yourself and maybe sneak a little episode of Pokemon whilst you're out on your walk ;)
Ugh, I know how it feels to blog from the iPad too. Hahaha
ReplyDeleteI got so excited when I found out they'd be streaming the first Pokémon movie for free! :D

I'd love to know what you think of How Hard Can Love Be? I spied it in Waterstones the other day, and I like Holly Bourne usually! I know how you feel r.e. the anxiety. The past 6-9 months I've been doing so well. But the last month or so, I feel like I've been back to square one. It's soul-destroying. But you'll get there, you're doing so well already. I hope things continue to improve for you <3 x www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x
ReplyDeleteI am really not enjoying this season of PLL. Hating the Charlotte storyline, and honestly it just seems all pointless now. I'll still end up watching it, but I don't think I'll enjoy it much haha!
ReplyDeleteI recently re-read Fangirl, and I love that book soooo much. It makes me think of my teen years aha. And I love Rainbow Rowell's writing.
