Goodbye 2014 | Recap & Favourites

LIFE
Well, well. What a year it's been for me. When I started this year I was suffocating from being bullied in college, my anxiety playing up and general 'What am I doing with my life?' breakdowns. The latter two are still part of my life today. But do you know what, I'm feeling pretty damn good. And I think that this blog is a big part of that.

Before I started What Lauren Did Today, I was a beauty blogger and I hated my blog. I didn't have a clue what I was doing, so I just uploaded content that I thought everyone wanted to see. I am not a beauty lover at all, but the only blogs I knew about at that point in time were beauty blogs, so I joined in. It wasn't until the end of May 2014 that I finally called it quits with beauty blogging, and decided to just blog for myself. And now, a few months later, there are nearly 200 of you reading. HOW INSANE IS THAT THOUGH SERIOUSLY?

My confidence has taken a battering this year, and I'm still not able to leave the house some days because of my anxiety. I've been through CBT and am now having Art Therapy, and I know that I'm doing everything possible to try and make myself better and stronger. I don't feel quite so weak anymore. I also lost my best friend in the world, then re-connected with her months later following my sister's admission into hospital. We're not as close as we used to be, but I missed her so much. I also lost my cat, Poppy, who was sadly ran over during the summer. I miss her so much still, but I have my little Luna to keep me company. I went on holiday with my boyfriend and had panic attacks all night, but I got to see the most beautiful beach sunsets and it was just amazing to spend time with him. (Also, I went in go-karts and on a water slide for the first time in forever... omg awkward Frozen reference.)

BLOG RECAP
And finally, I thought I'd give a little re-cap over my favourite/most popular blog posts of the past few months.

What a year! This has been possibly the best/worst year I've ever had, and it's almost bittersweet to let it go and to move into 2015. I have a lot of challenges coming my way throughout the coming year, but I'm kind of looking forward to them. I hope you all have had the most wonderful year, and I wish you all of the love, success and happiness in 2015.

  4. A massive well done you for quitting beauty blogging and blogging about what YOU really want to :) I nearly considered beauty blogging at one point as I thought it was the only thing that people seemed to want to read about- but I found that staying true to yourself is ultimately more rewarding and satisfying :) And yes yes yes I love Danisnotonfire! I am always referring to my existential crisis' thanks to him :') I really enjoyed reading this post and I hope you have a Happy New Year :)
