Lush The Experimenter Bath Bomb

I feel like The Experimenter is the 'it' bath bomb from the Lush Summer Collection... at least as far as Instagram is concerned! It's so colourful and is such an exciting one to watch that it was really difficult to decide which photos to feature in this post. It's also very aesthetically pleasing when it's not dissolving - it's shape is very different to anything I've seen from Lush before, and the bright colours give a little insight to what's waiting inside. The scent of this one is also quite nice - it's quite woody and smoky but the vanilla makes it more pleasant. Definitely not what I usually go for, which would be something sugary sweet or fruity, but I quite liked it.

As soon as I placed The Experimenter into the bath, a burst of white, yellow and purple swelled into the water. Within seconds the rest of the colours emerged and blended together to create some really beautiful shades and patterns. I noticed that the water beneath began to turn really murky quite quickly which kind of ruined the overall effect but it was still very Instagram worthy. I also found that the most spectacular part of the colour show was over really quickly and after I snapped these photos I just jumped in the bath whilst it was still dissolving. Once it had completely disappeared, I was left in incredibly glittery water that was a kind of deep cloudy purple. Not massively pretty but I've heard that some other people's water turned grey and horrible so I guess I was lucky! Another thing - on the website there's popping candy in the ingredients list and I definitely didn't have any of that.

Overall, I liked The Experimenter. I didn't love it and I'm not sure if I would ever buy it again, at least not when there's Intergalactic...

You can buy The Experiementer for £3.95 online and in store. It's also suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

  1. My bath turned a murky, grey colour a few minutes after the fizzing died down. Apart from the initial colours, I think it's really over hyped. It was a 'nice' product but nothing special.
