June Favourites

June was a month of loves for me. I think this is because I opened myself up to consider new and exciting things, where-as normally I would stick to my old favourites. I discovered two new TV shows, a bunch of new vegan beauty bits and even started reading two new books. I haven't finished the new books yet which is why they're not featured in this post!

My favourite, favourite thing this month is probably a tie between Sons of Anarchy and the B. All Lengthening, Defining & Volumising Mascara. I got the mascara at the beginning of June (along with some other things you can see in this haul) and fell in love with it. My ex-favourite mascara was a non-cf one, but I honestly didn't think I'd ever find a decent replacement until I tried the B. offering. It honestly does all it says on the tin tube and more. If you'd like a review on this mascara, just let me know. Sons of Anarchy is a TV show I never expected to be featuring in my favourites, ever. My mum has been watching it obsessively for years, but I thought it was just guns and sex and killing. Although there is a whole lot of that going on, the show is so much more than that. My favourite character is definitely Opie, although I adore Jax too.

My two other vegan beauty faves this month come in the form of the Original Source Coconut Shower Crème & the B. Candy Shop Collection Lipstick in Orangeboom. I used this shower gel daily whilst I was on holiday as I was swimming every day, and it brought the moisture and softness back to my skin that the chlorine had stripped from it. The scent is so relaxing and the formula is wonderfully creamy. This lipstick was also an almost daily essential whilst I was away. It's the most gorgeous bright orange shade that I find really flattering against my super pale skin, and it's ridiculously moisturising. I have a review of this lipstick coming up soon (alongside the other lipstick I bought at the time) so keep an eye out for that!

My book favourite for June has been Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. What I love most about this book is that it's one I often skipped in the past - meaning that as I've only read it a handful of times, it almost almost feels like a new read! Professor Umbridge truly makes me shake with rage in this book, but I also love the intricacy of the situation with Sirius. Luna Lovegood also makes her debut in this book, and she is SO hilarious, a million times more entertaining than she is in the films.

Finally - my faithful Primark flats. I think these were around £5, and I just love the addition of the buckle and straps. They're quite school-ish which I like, because my style can be quite preppy and formal sometimes and these shoes add a cute little touch to all my outfits.

What have you been loving recently?

  1. That is one of my least read Potter books too, I also think because it is so long, by the time you've finished you've forgot what happened!

I used to be like that with TV shows, thinking I won't like them, but of course I always do. I'm more open now and try not to judge as much!

    1. It's definitely one of the longest! I don't really know why I automatically think I wont like a TV show.. I think it's the stubbornness in me! x

  3. I think Order of the Phoenix is one of my favourites of the series too. One of the main reasons being that it's a really satisfying tome to hold in your hands! Those flats are so cute too - nothing beats a little T-bar, eh? x

    1. It is a really nice book to read! I'm not sure why its bulkiness doesn't intimidate me, like some other book though.. probably because it's Harry Potter! & thank you, they're my go-to shoe of choice at the moment (: x

  4. Great picks, I love the shoes! The Order of the Pheonix is such a good book and my favourite in the series, probably because there's so much Fred and George in it! xx

    1. Aah, I know, I couldn't believe their price when I picked them up! I'm constantly re-reading the Harry Potter books, but it's been a while since I've started from the beginning! I usually pick up from The Goblet of Fire xx

  8. I love The Order of the Phoenix. Professor Umbridge is so annoying! I dislike the way she bullies Harry. The book is one of my favourites from the series. I have the book with the same cover :)
