I'm back! After a very sudden absence, I know. I kind of zoned out from the world for a few days because to be honest I was just feeling like complete crap but I'm finally ready to get back to blogging. I haven't been doing much other than tucking myself in bed and watching multiple series of Greys Anatomy but I thought I'd update you guys on what I've been up to to make up for such a rude disappearance.

First thing's first: Looking for Alaska by John Green. Anyone who knows me knows I hated this book the first time I read it. I didn't even make it all the way through. I didn't take to the characters and I found the pranks and things a bit childish but a few days ago I picked it up again and I kid you not, by that night I had finished it. I'm so confused over why I didn't like it before - I adored it this time around! Maybe even more than The Fault in Our Stars. Seriously. It's one of the few books that have actually left me thinking about it long after I've finished. For those who have read it (and I'm trying to be vague in case you haven't) - what is your take on the accident?! I know what I think happened but John Green himself said in the interview on his website that he has no idea. Pleeeease, let me know your opinion! Tweet me @laaurenpiper or even email me laurenpiperx@yahoo.co.uk because I need someone to talk about this with! Ahh, it's driving me crazy.

Phew, now that fangirling extravaganza is over we can move on. I feel like I should probably explain a little more about my week-long zone out. I'm not really sure what happened but my confidence just took a sudden, huge knock and I was utterly convinced that my blog sucks, that myself as a person sucks, that everything I do sucks. It took me a while to level my head again and hopefully it's something I can build on in the future. For those of you who don't know, I have anxiety and sometimes I just have those times where I'm a bit ajihifhenglks. You know?

I am also still fostering the baby chickens I mentioned a few weeks ago! I'm currently editing together a post all about them so keep an eye out for that. Other than those few  things, this week has been pretty chilled. I've been playing a lot of solitare and drinking a lot of those mocha frappes from McDonalds and experimenting a lot with my vegetarian meat. (Btw, Quorn chicken is amazing) I even had my very first barbequed Quorn sausage. Honestly, I prefer the taste of them to normal sausages! I've got a few new post ideas tucked away in my brain so hopefully I'll be able to pop up a few posts within the next few days.

I hope you're all doing okay.

P.S Hello to my new followers! xo

  1. You're fostering baby chicks?! That's awesome!

And I've heard so many good things about Looking for Alaska. The only thing is that The Fault in Our Stars did not live up to the hype for me so I'm wary to read it!

And I know about the whole "I think I suck" mentality. Frankly, it sucks. It's so unhelpful and hard to get yourself out of. I'm glad you pulled yourself out of it, I think your blog and you are pretty cool :D

  3. Ahah its okay to take a break from blogging and kind of zone out! I sometimes take a week to publish a new post. I think its because it feels more like a chore than a fun hobby. Idk.

But that is so amazing you foster baby chicks! I am def going to checking your blog out for that post! They are adorable!

    1. I totally agree! I have to step back sometimes and remember that this is what I love to do, not what I think I should do! x
