NOTD | Barry M Spring Shades

Princess crown promise ring - eBay || Harry Potter ring - made by my mum.

My current nail statement is either going to disgust you or inspire you, but just hear me out. You know when you can't decide what colour to paint your nails?? I wanted the happy vibrancy of the yellow BUT I also wanted the pretty delicacy of the lilac and I couldn't decide between the two so I just painted one hand one colour and the other hand the other. I actually think it looks really cute and fun and is the perfect way to inject a bit more personality/colour into an outfit! My dad thinks I'm a bit insane but WHO CARES. Not me.
On my left hand I painted my nails with my favourite lilac shade - Barry M's Gelly Hi Shine polish in Prickly Pear which is a gorgeous muted lilac. It applies really smoothly and only takes two coats to achieve maximum colour and shine. The Gelly Hi Shines are my favourite Barry M polishes and make up 90% of my nail varnish collection!

On my right hand I used the Speedy Quick Dry polish in On Your Marks, which is a really light-yet-vibrant yellow. The colour itself is gorgeous, but the brush makes this a really streaky polish. It's a flat brush compared to the regular round one and I find that you can see where every strand brushed on the nail once its dry. The longevity isn't as good as the Gelly polishes - I have several chips across the top of each nail just days after I applied it. It's not quite as shiny as the Gelly polish, either. It does dry within about 20 seconds though!

Both of these polishes (and in fact every Barry M nail varnish) is cruelty-free and suitable for vegetarians and vegans!

What do you think of these shades? Would you ever wear two different colours at the same time?!

  2. Oh my, that ring your Mum made is so cute! I love those two nail colours together, I'm a big fan of mixing it up and wearing two different colours. I'm going to go on the hunt for the yellow at the weekend me thinks!

  4. I think this looks fab together! I especially love the yellow and it really suits your skin tone. I didn't mean that to sound weird... ha
I don't actually wear nail varnish unless I go on holiday (very rarely) but the only brand I have ever and will ever use is Barry M :)

  7. Omg I've been doing the two nail colour thing for years and it all started because I couldn't decide which colour I wanted to wear. I think it looks so so cute and you can get really creative with colour combinations and it's so much fun! Your yellow and purple combination looks really nice so I'll probably try it soon!
The Barry M Hi Shine nail polishes probably make up 90% of my nail polish collection too, they're always so cute and inexpensive.

  8. I love that purple! I've been debating yellow nails for ages. Love how bright and vibrant they are but not sure if it's too bold for me!
