Daily Objects #3

Well, isn't this a blast from the blogging past! Back when What Lauren Did Today was a lil newborn blog I created a little series titled 'Daily Objects' where I would essentially show you what I was up to that day through the objects I used. At least, I did all of the two times I actually wrote those posts. But on Wednesday I was feeling really rubbish and used a few things to make myself feel better, and I thought it was the perfect opportunity to revive this forgotten series!

Wednesday 16th September 2015
For the past couple of days, I've been trying to set myself a routine. My anxiety limits me severely and usually nobody else is around during the day time so I have to admit, I've been slacking on life lately and have just spent a lot of time watching YouTube. But I set myself a 'no YouTube until 7pm' rule and I've actually been getting stuff done. On this particular day, I was feeling quite ill and so decided to take it easy, whilst still actually doing something.

First up, I took my dog for a walk. It was actually really cold and despite wrapping up in my Primark black-and-white check scarf, I didn't get too hot at all. I took him on a really long walk, through the woods and out towards the park, then back again. I actually took a bit of a detour on the way home because there's this road that's lined with great, sturdy trees and I just like to walk up it.

Back at home, I tidied up the house a little bit then went full-on relaxation mode. I ran myself a bath and used a big chunk of my Lush Ultraviolet Bubble Bar, plus indulged in a little Snow Fairy. Once out of the bath and dressed in leggings, a jumper and my scarf, I thought I'd touch up my nails using my Barry M Gelly HiShine polish in Mustard. This is my faaaaavourite nail shade for Autumn. I also slicked on a little M&S Strawberry Lip Balm because my lips were feeling really dry and rough after the massive coldsore I'd just gotten rid of!
Finally, my entertainment for the day came in the form of my Nintendo 3DS & Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare. I reread Clockwork Angel earlier on this year, but I had a sudden urge to re-read Clockwork Prince and have now actually finished it. I'm about halfway through Clockwork Princess, too! On my DS, I played Animal Crossing: New Leaf for a little while and also revisited my Eeveelution team on Pokémon Y. I also had a little play on Pokémon SoulSilver as that's the Pokémon game I'm currently playing!

I hope that you liked this post! It was actually really fun to write. I've updated the style of it a lot since my last Daily Objects post - this almost felt like a diary entry. I definitely want to do more posts like this as we delve further into Autumn/Winter. Let me know if you'd like that!

  1. This sounds like the ultimate self-care day! I love a good long walk to clear my head and I'm so jealous you have some Ultra Violet left! I hope you're feeling a bit better x

  5. I actually found a bottle of Snow Fairy that I forgot I had so I think I'll have to have an indulgent bath like yours soon! Mustard is a gorgeous shade on the nails. I really liked that collection that Barry M released. I had Paprika and wore it loads!

  7. I still haven't tried Snow Fairy - I really need to! The Barry M nail polish looks lovely, it's not the kind of shade I'd usually go for but I think it's really suited to autumn :) xx
